आप की उपस्थिति से
खुशगवार हो गई
नौका ये मेरी
बिन पतवार खो गई

सच आपकी कसम
थोड़ा जीने लगे थे हम
लहरों ने जिधर धकेला
उस ओर चल दिए हम
रास्ते को भूल
देख आपको रहे थे हम


अब आप जो नहीं
सब वीरान ही तो है
दरिया के बीच
बस हम अब बचें हैं
ना आप ना किनारा
ना कहीं कोई और सहारा

फिर आपकी ही याद
ऐसे घर कर गई
कि आपकी तलाश में
हर दिन हर रात में

झगड़ चला मैं
बदल रहा था ये दुनिया
ताकि आए तुझको निंदिया
छोड़ अपने तन की
तेरी ही सुधी ली
अपने पूरे दिन में
खुशी ही केवल बोई
और तुम सब कहते
मैं विद्रोही
मैं नीच, अशिष्ट
कपटी, दुराचारी

जब भी ये पगली पुरवइया
मेरे तन को छूती है
ऐसा लगे तुने छुआ
तेरी ही अनुभूति है ।

जब कोई चार चिडियाँ चहके
फुदक-फुदक दीवाना करदे
ऐसा लगे खुश है तू बड़ी
अंगना में झूमती है खड़ी

जब भी इस चतुर चाँद को
देखूँ मैं आँखें भर-भरके
ऐसा लगे देखा तुने भी चाँद को
खोजे मुझे उसमे रह-रहके

जब जब कोई खुशबू
मुझको मदहोशी देती है
ऐसा लगे पास है तू
वोह तेरे केशों से बहती है

जब ये कारी बदरी बरसे
मुझको पूरा गिला करदे
ऐसा लगे मुझको तू ढूंढें
खिड़की से बारिश को छूके

जब भी खाना लगे सामने
चटनी का मैं लूँ चटकारा
ऐसा लगे सूने से घर में
फिर होगा तुने प्यार पकाया

दूर कहीं जब कोयल कूके
कानों में मिश्री सा घोले
ऐसा लगे कहीं बैठ अकेले
आज पुकारा होगा तुने

जब भी ये पगली पुरवइया
मेरे तन को छूती है
ऐसा लगे तुने छुआ

That sparkles everyday of yours
But humble human origin I have

I thought to give you diamonds
A girl's best friend they say
But poor money I have none

But it loses its fragrance still

It makes you look so pretty
But, dull and uninteresting I am

But god, I am so reckless
